Regular Training Night

Squadron Gear Drive

    1. Tuesday is the beginning of our fall squadron gear drive.  We will have sizing equipment and samples on site for those who want to purchase squadron gear.  
    2. The catalog on the main page of the website has been updated with the 2019 selections and prices.  
    3. All orders must be received by Tue, 29 Oct to ensure a Christmas delivery.  Come out and show your #SquadronPride.  
    4. Payment can be cash, cheque or etransfer.

Pipes & Drums Practice

Combat Sales (Olive Drab) **New Timings below**

    1. Green Gear will be onsite for cadets who want to purchase combats for the upcoming FTX, 
    2. They will have a selection of pants, shirts and boots.  Prices are 
      1. shirts:  $20; 
      2. pants: $40; and 
      3. boots:  $30-60.  
    3. Cash Only.

Drill Team Practice

Aviation Training Day

    2. Afternoon: Canada Aviation and Space Museum
  6. Transportation: Bus from the Embrun Arena
  7. Dress: Conservative civilian dress appropriate for the weather.
  8. Material: Bring a full water bottle and food (lunch and snacks).

Volunteering - Serve Dinner for the Embrun Knights of Columbus
  1. Participant(s):  All Cadets and Parents

  4. Time: 1600 - 2100 hrs 
  5. Location: 5 Forget St, Embrun, ON K0A 1W0
  6. Dress: Civilian dress.  Wear your Sqn swag with pride!
  7. Details: Note that if you have signed up for the Aviation Training Day, your parents will have to pick you up at the Canada Aviation and Space Museum at 1500hrs to bring you to Embrun.

Biathlon Patrol Race

    3. Junior males team: Cpl Kimble and Sgt MacDonald;

  3. Date: Sun, 20 Oct 19
  4. Time: 
    1. Arrive: 0815hrs
    2. Race begins: 1000hrs
    3. Race ends: 1400hrs
    4. Cleaning and Medal Presentations: 1410 to 1500hrs
    5. Departure: 1500 hrs

  6. Transportation: Parents are responsible for transporting their Cadets.
  7. Dress: Appropriate sports attire of pants and long sleeve shirt, running shoes, gloves and a toque.
  8. Material: Bring your health card, a full water bottle and food.

Gliding Day

  4. Time: 0745 - 1715 hrs 
  5. Location to board bus: Embrun Arena, 6 Blais St, Embrun, ON K0A 1W0
  6. Dress: Civilian dress. Dress properly for the weather as you will be outside for the day. 
  7. Note: Bring food and water, there is no restaurant on site and the water on site is not drinkable. 

Parent Meeting
  1. Participant(s):  All Parents
  2. OPI:  Mr. MacDonald

Field Training Exercise
  1. Participant(s):  All cadets. Sign up here.

  3. Date: 26-27 Oct 19
  4. Time: 
    1. Depart: 0700 hrs, 26 Oct 19
    2. Return: 1600 hrs, 27 Oct 19
  5. Location to board bus: Embrun Arena, 6 Blais St, Embrun, ON K0A 1W0
  6. Dress: Civilian dress or Olive Drab combat gear.  Dress properly for the weather as you will be outside all weekend. 
  7. Meals: 
    1. Rations are provided for lunch on Saturday to lunch on Sunday. 
  8. Material: List of items to bring is found here.
  9. Instructions: 
    1. Cadets must eat breakfast prior to boarding the bus.
    2. Cadets must submit the following prior to boarding the bus:
      1. parental consent form; 
      2. required medication in original packaging; and
      3. must have packed all items on kit list.
    3. Parents are not to leave the Arena until cadets have been cleared in.

Local Flavours Rendez-Vous
  1. Participant(s):  Parents, friends and family (19+)
  2. Date:     Sat, 26 Oct 19
  3. Time:     1600-2200hrs
  4. Notes:
    1. Russell Township will be holding their 4th annual Local Flavours Rendez-Vous event on October 26 from 4pm until 10pm.  This is a great opportunity to experience some of the amazing local beer, wine and food that is available in the region.  This year 5 Cyclone has been selected to receive the proceeds for this event.
    2. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased on Tuesday evenings from a member of the sponsoring committee or by contacting chair@5cycloneaircadets.ca.  I encourage all parents to support the squadron by enjoying an evening at this event while our cadets are enjoying their evening at FTX.
