NEW CADETS:

1. Your first training night begins on Tue, 13 Oct.  Details below.  If you need help accessing your new 5 Cyclone email, contact [email protected]. 
2. Additionally, on Sat, 10 Oct at 9am, Capt Martel will provide a quick tutorial to new cadets on how to navigate in Google to those of you who are new to (or less familiar with) the platform.  Email her at [email protected] and she will send you an invite.

ALL CADETS:

1. If you can't access your 5 Cyclone account, email 2Lt Rozon at [email protected]. 
2. As well, if you need additional help with accessing the tools on the 5 Cyclone Google platform inform 2Lt Rozon as soon as possible.

COVID Safety

2. Instructions:  Email Capt Tanguay at [email protected] as soon as possible if you are tested for COVID and then again with your results.

Welcome Back & COVID-19 Awareness Briefings

1. Participant(s):  Mandatory Training for cadets in levels 2, 3, 4 & 5.  (Level 1st begin training on 13 Oct)

4. Time: 1900-2000 hrs 
5. Location:  Squadron Google Classroom (if you haven’t signed in to your 5 Cyclone email, you need to contact [email protected] as soon as possible)
6. Dress:
   1. C3B Summer Dress (open collared dress shirt)
   2. If your uniform doesn't fit, wear a white shirt and dark slacks as usual.

8. Description: 
   1. Welcome back to cadets for the 2020-2021 Training Year! 
   2. We will be operating in Google Classroom, so please ensure you are logged into your @5cycloneaircadets.ca email account as the briefing will be conducted via Google Meet in the Squadron Classroom (titled "5 Cyclone Squadron"). 
   3. Topics to be covered include how training will be conducted, plans to resume in-person activities, and COVID-19 Awareness from the COVID-19 Safety Officer, Capt Tanguay. 
   4. The Meet will be recorded and uploaded to the Classroom for any cadets who are unable to attend and for cadets to reference as the year progresses.

Ground School, 1st Online Session

1. Participant(s):  Any cadet interested in attending Virtual Ground School. Mandatory for anybody applying for Glider or Power (if unable to attend this session contact Mrs. Maxwell at [email protected])

5. Location: Zoom - invite will be sent out to registered participants.
6. Dress: Casual Civilians
7. Materials: Bring writing materials.
8. Description: Introduction to the ground school program and three classes: Theory of Flight #1, Meteorology #1, Radio #1.

Supply Night - Field Training Uniform Initial Issue

1. Participant(s):  All cadets requiring the new Field Training Uniform (FTU)

6. Description
   1. Plans are currently underway to safely resume in-person Supply nights, starting with the initial issue of the new FTU.  At this time the squadron is waiting for approval from RCSU before starting these supply nights, as such the dates are currently to be determined.
   2. In preparation for FTUs to be issued, a new “Supply COVID-19 Resource Page” has been created that outlines new procedures that will be in place, as well as provides an at home measuring guide.  All cadets will need to take their own measurements in order to receive their FTUs.
   3. Once the squadron receives approval to begin running in-person Supply, further information will be provided for booking an appointment.

7. Description: Please join us for our New Cadet Information Session on 13 Oct 2020. Any youth interested in joining cadets and their parents/guardians are able to attend via Google Meet (link above). 

Regular Training Night (level 2 and up)

8. Description: 
   1. Regular training begins for all cadets on 13 Oct 2020 in their respective Google Classrooms by Level. 
   2. If you have not received an invitation to join your Google Classroom (sent to your @5cycloneaircadets.ca email account), please verify that you have access to your cadet email account.Cadets should have received invitations to two (2) Google Classrooms: their level, and the Squadron Classroom ("5 Cyclone Squadron"). Cadets cannot access their Google Classrooms from their personal email accounts, only their @5cycloneaircadets.ca email accounts.
   3. If you do not have access to your @5cycloneaircadets.ca email account (i.e.: have not received the link to activate it, have been locked out, or are having general access issues), contact [email protected] to rectify any IT issues.

Virtual Drill Team Program, Video-Conference Briefing

1. Participant(s):  Open to all cadets (and parents of cadets) interested in participating in a Virtual Drill Team Program

7. Description:
   1. Video-conference briefing with Drill Team Coach CI Andre Deblois who will explain how the Virtual Drill Team Program will be run; 
   2. Cadets and parents will get an opportunity to ask any questions they may have;
   3. The level of interest in the program will be evaluated; and 
   4. If there is sufficient interest, the program will be put in place and further instructions for participation will be communicated.

Senior NCM Course, 2nd Live Session
