Squadron Hours:
  1. Squadron official hours are 1830-2130hrs, on Tuesday nights.
  2. If there is an urgent matter outside of these hours that requires immediate and prompt attention, call the Commanding Officer, Capt Willis, at 613-898-3616.

COVID Case Reporting: Cadets who receive a positive COVID test result must contact Capt Willis as soon as possible at 613-898-3616 or via email.


COVID-19 Screening:
  1. Prior to leaving home for every cadet activity, each cadet must complete this COVID-19 Screening;
    1. Cadets must complete the COVID-19 screening for every event (including but not limited to regular training, ground school, drill team, marksmanship, biathlon, trips, etc.).
  2. If the screening result is “go to school/childcare,” go to Squadron Training;
  3. Otherwise, stay home and advise Admin by filling out this form.

Cadet Fitness Assessment

  5. Location:

  6. Dress: 
    1. Appropriate sports attire
  7. Details:        
    1. COVID-19 Screening:

    2. Cadets who do not yet have a uniform, or whose blue uniform does not fit, shall wear a dress shirt and dress pants. 
    3. Cadets shall dress for the weather. At this time, it's looking to be cloudy with high of 22C and a low of 13C.

    1. Various locations around Embrun and Russell. 
  7. Details:  
    1. This time can be claimed as community service hours towards a cadet's Ontario Secondary School Diploma. 
      1. See Capt Willis on Tuesday to have your form signed.
    2. Cadets shall report to their location at the beginning of their assigned shifts (click here for the schedule).
    3. Poppy Sales takes priority over Marksmanship. If you are assigned an afternoon shift, you will be excused from marksmanship. 

Vars Remembrance Day Ceremony

Ground School
  1. Participant(s): Any cadet interested in learning about aviation theory

Drill Team

  5. Location:
    1. École secondaire catholique Embrun 1276 St Jacques Rd, Embrun, ON K0A 1W0
  6. Dress:
    1. Conservative civilian attire with wedge and drill boots.
  7. Materials:
    1. A snack; and
    2. A bottle of water.
  8. Details:
    1. Drill is an important part of cadet training. Drill promotes discipline, alertness, precision, pride, steadiness, and the cohesion necessary for success within a group.

Ottawa Valley Senior Leadership Weekend
  1. Participant(s): Level 3 and 4 Cadets

  3. Date: Sat, 26 Nov 22 or Sun, 27 Nov 22  
  4. Time: 0800 – 1645 hrs   
  5. Dress:
    1. C5 - FTUs
    2. Cadets who do not yet have a uniform shall wear a dress shirt and dark coloured pants.
  6. Location:
    1. Major E.J.G. Holland VC Armoury 2100 Walkley Rd, Ottawa, ON K1G 3V3
  7. Details:
    1. The Ottawa Valley will be holding a Senior Leadership Weekend for all Level 3 and 4 cadets in the Ottawa area.
    2. Cadets will develop practical management and instructional skills with their peers from different squadrons to prepare them for their coming training years as senior cadets. 
    3. Cadets have the option of participating on Saturday or Sunday.

Marksmanship

    1. C-5 (FTUs);
    2. Cadets who do not yet have a uniform shall wear comfortable attire for lying on the floor.
  6. Location:

  7. Details:
    1. Cadets are to wear outdoor footwear to and from the activity and change into their indoor footwear once on site.

​Russell Remembrance Day Parade

    2. Cadets who do not yet have a uniform shall wear a dress shirt and dress pants.

    1. ​Russell Legion, 24 Legion Ln, Russell, ON K4R 1C8
  7. Details:
    1. ​While Remembrance Day falls on a school day this year, cadets are welcome to attend the Russell Remembrance Day ceremony.
      1. ​Cadets who are 18 years old are able to sign themselves out of school (with their parents' knowledge).
    2. Cadets shall report to the Legion for 1000hrs and the parade will step off at approximately 1030hrs.
    3. This time can be claimed as community service hours towards a cadet's Ontario Secondary School Diploma.

Embrun Remembrance Day Parade

  7. Details:
    1. ​While Remembrance Day falls on a school day this year, cadets are welcome to attend the Embrun Remembrance Day ceremony.
      1. ​Cadets who are 18 years old are able to sign themselves out of school (with their parents' knowledge).
    2. Cadets shall report to the Russell Township Building for 1400hrs and the parade is scheduled to begin at shortly thereafter.
    3. This time can be claimed as community service hours towards a cadet's Ontario Secondary School Diploma.

    1. To provide an opportunity for Air Cadets to increase their self-confidence; and increase their ability to reason, organize and express ideas;
    2. To promote the citizenship component of local squadron training;
    3. To provide a focus at the Local, Regional/Wing, Provincial/Territorial, and National levels, to promote and encourage Air Cadets to participate in an optional activity that will provide them with an opportunity to acquire effective speaking skills through instruction and practice in a structured and competitive environment;
    4. To increase public awareness regarding the citizenship and leadership aspects of the Air Cadet program at the national, provincial and local levels.
