    1. Navigating 5 Cyclone as a parent can be confusing.  We will be hosting an information session to help new and existing parents to navigate it.  Come find out what to expect as a parent, where to find resources, to ask questions and to find out what parents can do to help your cadet(s) to get the most out of 5 Cyclone.
    2. All parents are encouraged to attend.

CO’s Armchair Discussion

  5. Snack: Refreshments will be provided.
  6. Description: 
    1. Once a month, the CO will host a gathering for up to 10 people to meet in a relaxed, informal setting. The goal is to meet cadets of all levels, to get to know each other a bit better and to share ideas in a casual setting.
    2. Whether you are a new recruit or a warrant officer, all cadets are welcome to attend a chat session. 
    3. Please check with your level officer to ensure that you will not miss an import training activity during the session you will attend.

Tag days

  3. Date:  3-6 Oct 2019
  4. Note: 
    1. Signups are now available for some locations for the Fall tag day campaign.  More will be added shortly.
    2. Recruits who haven’t yet been issued a uniform can sign up for a shift.
    3. Recruits will be paired with a more experienced cadet (lvl 3 or up) when possible.
    4. Senior cadets (lvl 4 and 5) should avoid signing up for shifts with other seniors.

CO’s Parade

  4. Time: 
    1. Guests are asked to be seated by 1945hrs
    2. Parade begins at 2000hrs
  5. Description: Recognition, promotions,and other presentations are made at CO’s parades.  New recruits will make the oath of loyalty and become full-fledged members of 5 Cyclone Squadron.  Family members are encouraged to join the audience to witness this special moment.

Local Flavours Rendez-Vous
  1. Participant(s):  Parents, friends and family (19+)
  2. Date:   Sat, 26 Oct 19
  3. Time: 1600-2200hrs
  4. Notes:
    1. Russell Township will be holding their 4th annual Local Flavours Rendez-Vous event on October 26 from 4pm until 10pm.  This is a great opportunity to experience some of the amazing local beer, wine and food that is available in the region.  This year 5 Cyclone has been selected to receive the proceeds for this event.
    2. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased on Tuesday evenings from a member of the sponsoring committee or by contacting chair@5cycloneaircadets.ca.  I encourage all parents to support the squadron by enjoying an evening at this event while our cadets are enjoying their evening at FTX.
