Squadron Hours: 
  1. Squadron official hours are 1830 - 2130 hrs, on Tuesday nights.  
  2. If you send an email outside of this period, it may take a few days to obtain a response. We appreciate your patience as our staff have full-time jobs and families.  
  3. If there is an urgent matter that needs to be addressed, do not hesitate to contact Capt Martel at 613-791-1008.

Summer Training Opportunities – Level 3 +   
  1. Participant(s): Any interested cadets in Level 3 and above.
  2. OPI:  Capt Pascal
  3. Details: Interested cadets are to apply for consideration for summer training opportunities by completing this form no later than 24 Mar 22. Please note there are limited positions, all cadets are encouraged to apply. Details for Level 1 and 2 summer training opportunities will follow in the coming weeks.

Regular Training Night  (In-person) 

  1. Participant(s): All Cadets
  2. OPI: Capt Willis 
  3. Date: Tue, 22 Mar 22
  4. Time: 1900-2100 hrs
  5. Location: 
    1. Levels 1, 3, and 5: St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic High School, 1211 S Russell Rd, Russell, ON K4R 1E5
    2. Levels 2 and 4: Russell Arena Community Hall, 1084 Concession St, Russell, ON K4R 1A6
    3. Upon arrival, parents are to park and stay in their car. 
    4. Cadets will be directed by a senior cadet to the appropriate entrance.
  6. Dress:  
    1. Field Training Uniform (FTU) with wedge and mask; or
    2. White shirt and dark coloured pants and mask if the cadet hasn’t yet been issued FTUs
  7. Details:   
    1. COVID-19 Screening: 
    2. Prior to leaving home, each cadet must complete this COVID-19 Screening;
    3. If the screening result is “go to school/child care”, go to Squadron Training;
    4. Otherwise, stay home and advise Admin by filling out this form.
  8. Materials:  
    1. Bring writing materials such as a pen and notebook; and
    2. Bring a water bottle (use of water fountains is not permitted).
  9. Parents:  
    1. For reasons of contact tracing, parents must remain in their vehicles when dropping off their cadet. 
    2. If parents have questions, staff members will be available in the parking lot to answer them.

Level One (1) Training Materials
  1. Participants: Cadets in Level 1
  2. Date: Tue 22 Mar 22
  3. Details: 
    1. Level One (1) cadets will be constructing model airplanes during training on 22 Mar 22.
    2. If the cadet has the following materials at home, they are encouraged to bring them to prevent sharing of materials as much as possible:
      1. 1 x thumbtack;
      2. 1 x 1" binder clip;
      3. 1 x scissors;
      4. 1 x gluestick; and
      5. Markers.

Ground School (Virtual):  
  1. Participant(s): Any interested cadet
  2. OPI:  CI Maxwell  
  3. Date: Wed, 23 Mar 22
  4. Time: 1830 - 2000 hrs  
  5. Location: MS Teams 
  6. Dress: Casual Civilians 
  7. Materials: Bring writing materials

Drill Team  (In-person)

  6.  Dress: 
    1. Civilian dress; 
    2. Mandatory mask; and
    3. Bring drill boots
  7. Materials: Bring a water bottle (use of water fountains is not permitted)
 
Biathlon Practice – Skiing  (stood down for the rest of this training year)

  5. Dress: C-5 (FTUs) 
  6. Location: Paul-Émile Levésque Centre, 756 Brebeuf St, Casselman, ON K0A 1M0 
  7. Details: Cadets are to wear winter footwear to and from the activity and change into their indoor footwear once on site. Bring food and drinks.
 
Cadet365 - Virtual Office Hours to Support Cadet Onboarding 
 
  1. Participants:  Level 4+ cadets
  2. Dates and time:  Initial sessions are scheduled from 1830-2130hr EDT on:
    1. Thu, 24 Mar
    2. Thu, 31 Mar
  3. Details:
    1. All Level 4+ cadets have been sent their Cadets365 credentials on onboarding material. 
    2. The IT SMC will be offering virtual office hours to assist cadets with onboarding to Cadet365. Those sessions are in place to assist cadets who may be experiencing trouble with certain steps of the initial onboarding process. 
    3. Before joining the meeting cadets:
      1. should attempt the login process themselves by following the steps/resources available on Canada.ca and consult the frequently asked questions
