CO’s Armchair Discussion

  5. Snack: Refreshments will be provided.
  6. Description: 
    1. Once a month, the CO will host a gathering for up to 10 people to meet in a relaxed, informal setting. The goal is to meet cadets of all levels, to get to know each other a bit better and to share ideas in a casual setting.
    2. Whether you are a new recruit or a warrant officer, all cadets are welcome to attend a chat session. 
    3. Please check with your level officer to ensure that you will not miss an import training activity during the session you will attend.

Decorating Christmas Float

  6. Dress: Conservative civilian dress.  Dress warmly (coat, hat etc.), it will be chilly.​

Level 5 Workshop (Mandatory)
  1. Participant(s):  All Level 5 Cadets
  2. OPI:  CI Deblois
  3. Date: Sat, 23 Nov 19
  4. Time: 
    1. Drop off: 0830hrs
    2. Pick up: Workshop ends at 1630hrs (2130hrs if staying for the dinner/party)
  5. ​Location: Salaberry Armoury, 188 Alexandre Taché Blvd, Gatineau, QC J9A 1L8
  6. Dress: C3E for cadets– Service and travel dress.
  7. Rations: Not provided.  Bring a lunch and water.  A small canteen will be on site.
  8. Material: Bring pen, paper and your level 5 log book.
  9. Social Evening: Following the Level 5 workshops, a social evening will be held at the Salaberry Armoury. From 1700 to 2130hrs, Level 5 Cadets (even those not present at the workshops) are invited to participate in various activities, including games, discussions, and a meal with other senior staff in the region, all in civilian clothes. Please note that each cadet will have to bring $12 for dinner. 
  10. Sign-up: This is necessary for all level 5s to state whether you will be attending the workshop and/or the social evening.

    1. Departure: 0725 hrs Embrun Arena, 6 Blais in Embrun (note that 632 and 51 Sqns will be picked up en route to CF Central Music Bld at 15 Spitfire Rd, Gloucester)
    2. Clinic Hours: 0900-1715hrs
    3. Arrival: 1835 hrs Embrun Arena.
    4. Note that if you wish to pick up you cadet at the end of the clinic (1715 hrs), the address is:  CF Central Music Bld at 15 Spitfire Rd, Gloucester (Uplands).  Let Capt Martel know if this is your intention.
  5. Location: CFB Uplands
  6. Transportation : Bus provided from Embrun Arena, 6 Blais Street.
  7. Dress: C3 - Service Dress with no tie.
  8. Materials: Bring your instrument, writing materials, water and a lunch and snacks.

Embrun Santa Parade

    2. Pick up: Approximately 1930hrs at the Embrun Arena. Pick up time is dependant on how long the parade takes to arrive at the arena.

Russell Santa Parade

1st Annual Parent get together
  1. Participant(s):  All Parents, staff and committee members (19+)

  5. Location: Russell Arena (top floor), 1084 Concession St, Russell,
  6. Cost:  *** New *** $10 minimum donation at the door.  Tables must be reserved in advance.  Please RSVP ASAP to chair@5cycloneaircadets.com so that we can reserve space.  Tables are filling up fast.
  7. Notes: 
    1. The committee would like to invite all parents, committee members and staff to the 1st annual 5 Cyclone adults get-together.  This event will be a chance to get out, have some fun and meet some of the other adult 5 Cyclone family in an informal and fun setting.
    2. We will book several tables at the upcoming “1st Annual Great Russell Pay it Forward Trivia” event being put on by Russell Trivia Services.  Admission price is a minimum donation of $10 with proceeds going to the Russell Fire Department. In the words of Russell Trivia “The funds raised this year will benefit EVERYONE in our Township. The mystery benefactor must remain a surprise but TRUST US .. it's good!”
    3. If you haven’t had the chance to experience a Russell Trivia night, Russell Trivia puts on a good evening.  On top of the 100 general knowledge trivia questions, there will be a raffle for a bunch of gift certificates, food, drinks and music.  There will also be live and silent auctions.
    4. We have about 6 people who showed interest in this so far which is one table.  I would like to get a chance to know more of the parents so please sign up. It would be great to have at least another 12.  Please also let me know if you will be bringing guests or significant others so I can reserve enough space.

Christmas Dinner Parent Volunteers

  5. Notes:  We require more parent volunteers to help to ensure that the cadet Christmas dinner is a success again this year.  We need help with:
    1. Food Prep 1000-1400 (please bring an apron if possible)
    2. Food Prep 1400-1800 (please bring an apron if possible)
    3. Serving 1700-2100 (please wear black pants and a white button up shirt)
    4. Cleanup 1900-2300

Christmas Dinner and Dance

  4. Timings:
    1. 1730hrs - Cadets Arrive
    2. 1800hrs - Dinner
    3. 2000hrs - Dance
    4. 2230hrs - Pick-up
  5. Location: Limoges Community Centre, 205 Limoges Rd, Limoges, ON K0A 2M0
  6. Dress: Semi-formal civilian dress
  7. Cost: Free with a donation to the food bank (cash or non-perishable food item).  Look at the food this list from the Food Bank.
  8. Donations for the Dinner: The Sponsoring Committee(SC) is requesting cash donations to help off-set the cost of the dinner.  This will allow the SC to buy bulk food resulting in monetary and packaging savings.
    1. Donations are accepted any Tuesday until the dinner
    2. Tax receipts will be issued for any donation of $10 or more
    3. Any excess funds raised will be donated to the food bank.
  9. Guests: Cadets are permitted to invite one (1) guest to the dance portion.  The guest must arrive at 8:00PM and have a signed "Guest Permission Form" (to come) in order to attend.
