Embrun Christmas Parade 

1. Participant(s):  Cadets who sign-up. 
2. OPI:  OCdt Caswell 
3. Date:  Sat, 25 Nov 23 
4. Time:  TBC – Usually evening (~1800-1930hrs) 
5. Dress:  C5 – FTU with issued parka, tuque or holiday hat, and gloves. 
6. Location: 
   1. Drop-Off: TBC – Usually near Mini Mall Storage - 130 Bay St, Embrun, ON K0A 1W1 
   2. Pick-Up: Embrun Arena - 6 Blais St, Embrun, ON K0A 1W0 
7. Details: 
   1. Please join us in spreading holiday cheer to the residents of Embrun! 
   2. Cadets will be part of a marching contingent behind our float, handing out candy canes, and spreading the holiday spirit. 
      1. The Embrun Food Bank also requires volunteers to help collect canned goods along the parade route.  
   3. Cadets may wear an appropriate holiday hat in lieu of their issued tuque (i.e.: Santa hat, elf hat, reindeer antlers, etc.). 
   4. This time can be claimed as community service hours towards a cadet's Ontario Secondary School Diploma.

   1. To provide an opportunity for Air Cadets to increase their self-confidence; and increase their ability to reason, organize and express ideas;  
   2. To promote the citizenship component of local squadron training;  
   3. To provide a focus at the Local, Regional/Wing, Provincial/Territorial, and National levels, to promote and encourage Air Cadets to participate in an optional activity that will provide them with an opportunity to acquire effective speaking skills through instruction and practice in a structured and competitive environment;  
   4. To increase public awareness regarding the citizenship and leadership aspects of the Air Cadet program at the national, provincial and local levels.

   1. Open to any and all cadets who wish to learn to play a brass or reed instrument – no experience required! 
   2. Cadets will have the opportunity to learn to play instruments such as trumpet, flute, clarinet, alto/tenor saxophone, snare drum, etc.

   1. While no experience is required, we are asking cadets to identify their current musical experience so the instructor knows what skill level they are starting with.
