​Regular Training Night (In-person)

    1. Levels 1, 2 and 3 (Level 4s read further down)
    2. Tasked Senior Cadets: Choinière-Bélanger, Cloutier-Dion, Desrochers, Gaudreault, Weiher, Yakabuski
    3. Note that participants are limited due to Public Health Measures.

    1. Senior Cadets: Arrive at 1830hrs
    2. Levels 1 and 2 (Hall B):
      1. 1900 hrs: Intake
      2. 1915 hrs: Training
      3. 2030 hrs: Departure
    3. Level 3 (Hall A)
      1. 1915 hrs: Intake
      2. 1930 hrs: Training
      3. 2045 hrs: Departure
  5. Location:  
    1. Marionville Community Centre, 4629 Gregoire Rd, Russell, ON K4R 1E5
    2. Upon arrival, parents are to park at the back of the building and stay in their car;
    3. Cadets will be directed by a senior cadet to the appropriate entrance to use for their bubble.
  6. Dress: 
    1. Field Training Uniform (FTU) with wedge and mask; or
    2. white shirt and dark coloured pants and mask if the cadet hasn’t yet been issued FTUs
  7. Details: 
    1. COVID-19 Screening:
      1. Prior to leaving home, each cadet must complete this COVID-19 Screening;
      2. If the screening result is “go to school/child care”, go to Squadron Training;
      3. Otherwise, stay home and advise Admin by filling out this form
    2. Materials:
      1. Bring writing materials such as a pen and notebook; and
      2. Bring a water bottle (use of water fountains is not permitted)
    3. Parents:
      1. For reasons of contact tracing and bubble management, parents must remain in their vehicles when dropping off their cadet. 
      2. If parents have questions, staff members will be available in the parking lot to answer them.
      3. Do not leave your cadet at training without being cleared to leave by a staff member.

      1. 1900-1945 hrs 
      2. 1900 will be dress inspection
    2. ​​Level 5s: Work on lesson plans for upcoming training..

Biathlon

  3. Date: Sat, 9 Oct 21
  4. Time: 1300-1500 hrs
  5. Location: 388 Centralpark Blvd, Russell ON K4R 
  6. Dress: Details to come plus mandatory mask.
  7. Description: Biathlon is an Olympic winter sport, which combines competitive, free-technique cross-country skiing and small-bore rifle marksmanship.  Training consists of strength and cardiovascular conditioning through static exercises, running, and other dynamic activities.
 
Drill Team (In-person)

  2. OPI:  CI Deblois
  3. Date: Thu, 14 Oct 21
  4. Time:  1900-2100hrs
  5. Location:  
    1. Marionville Community Centre, 4629 Gregoire Rd, Russell, ON K4R 1E5
    2. Upon arrival, parents are to park at the back of the building and stay in their car;
    3. Cadets will be directed by a senior cadet to the appropriate entrance to use
  6. Dress: 
    1. Civilian dress; 
    2. Mandatory mask; and
    3. Bring drill boots
  7. Details: 
    1. COVID-19 Screening:
      1. Prior to leaving home, each cadet must complete this COVID-19 Screening;
      2. If the screening result is “go to school/child care”, go to Squadron Training;
      3. Otherwise, stay home and advise Admin by filling out this form
    2. Materials: Bring a water bottle (use of water fountains is not permitted)
    3. Parents:
      1. Parents must remain in their vehicles when dropping off their cadet. 
      2. If parents have questions, staff members will be available in the parking lot to answer them.
  8. Description: Drill is an important part of cadet training. Drill promotes discipline, alertness, precision, pride, steadiness, and the cohesion necessary for success within a group.

Supply of Uniforms
  1. Participant(s):  All Cadets
  2. OPI:  Captain Magill 
  3. **Important Note: Captain Magill will be away from 30 Sep until 17 Oct.  In his absence 2nd Lieutenant Rozon will be the interim Supply Officer.  Only urgent requests will be filled during this period of time. All non-urgent orders will be prepared the week of 18 Oct.
  4. Details:
    Supply requests are open for this training year. Visit this page for instructions on how to take your measurements at home and submit your request.  Requests are open for:



    1. New cadets to receive their initial issue of the full uniform (FTU and DEU)
    2. Returning cadets to request replacements for items they currently have
    3. In addition to requests, Supply is now taking returns and exchanges.  At this time returns and exchanges will only be accepted from cadets who have placed and order for new items, where the return/exchange can be coordinated at the same time as distribution.  This will be coordinated individually as orders are filled.
 
Registration for New Cadets

  3. Details: Request information on Air Cadet Registration by writing an email to Capt Pascal at 5aviation@cadets.gc.ca with the subject “Cadet Registration” and include your name in the body of the email

Sign-ups for Optional Teams 
  1. Sign-up: Sign-up by writing an email to 5aviation@cadets.gc.ca with the Team Name in the subject line and include your name and rank in the body of the email.
  2. Effective Speaking: 
    1. OPI:  CI Caswell 
    2. Date: Mondays (tentative start of 11 Oct 21)
    3. Time: 1830 - 2030 hrs 
    4. Location: Cadet365 Teams, invitations will be sent to registrants.
    5. Description: To provide an opportunity for Air Cadets to increase their self-confidence and enhance their ability to reason, organize and express ideas.
  3. Marksmanship 
    1. OPI:  Capt Willis 
    2. Date: Saturdays (tentative start of 9 Oct 21)
    3. Time: tentatively 1500 - 1800 hrs 
    4. Location: TBD.
    5. Description: Cadet marksmanship had its roots in familiarization training with the Canadian Forces. Its current focus, however, is on teaching cadets the proper use and safe handling of firearms for recreational purposes only. The marksmanship program has been specifically designed for youth and is based on Olympic-style competition.
  4. Band (Pipes & Drums)
    1. OPI: Capt Martel
    2. Date/Time: Lessons will be arranged individually by appointment
    3. Location: Virtual
    4. Description: The Cadet Music Program involves instruction in theory, performance, sight-reading and instrument maintenance.
  5. Drone Team
    1. OPI: Capt Tanguay
    2. Date: Wednesdays
    3. Time: 1900 - 2030 hrs
    4. Location: Virtual
    5. Description: The program will lead the cadets to the successful completion of the Transport Canada examination “Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems — Basic Operations” certificate which is based on the standard entitled Knowledge Requirements for Pilots of Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems, 250g up to and including 25kg, Operating within Visual Line-of-Sight (VLOS).
