Squadron Hours:
  1. Squadron official hours are 1830 – 2130 hrs, on Tuesday nights.
  2. If there is an urgent matter outside of these hours that requires immediate and prompt attention and cannot wait until the following Tuesday, contact the Commanding Officer, Capt Willis at rachel.willis@cadets.gc.ca.

COVID Case Reporting:  Cadets who receive a positive COVID test result must contact Capt Willis as soon as possible via email.

COVID-19 Screening:
  1. Prior to leaving home for every cadet activity, each cadet must complete this COVID-19 Screening;
    1. Cadets must complete the COVID-19 screening for every event (including but not limited to regular training, ground school, drill team, marksmanship, biathlon, trips, etc.).
  2. If the screening result is “go to school/childcare,” go to Squadron Training;
  3. Otherwise, stay home and advise Admin by filling out this form.

Effective Speaking

  4. Time:  1830 – 2000 hrs   
  5. Dress:
    1. Conservative civilian attire; and
    2. A pair of indoor shoes.
  6. Location:
    1. École secondaire catholique Embrun 1276 St Jacques Rd, Embrun, ON K0A 1W0
  7. Materials:
    1. Your Effective Speaking Workbook;
    2. Writing materials such as a pen and notebook or laptop;
    3. Your prepared speech;
    4. A bottle of water; and
    5. Your voice.
  8. Details:
    1. To provide an opportunity for Air Cadets to increase their self-confidence; and increase their ability to reason, organize and express ideas;
    2. To promote the citizenship component of local squadron training;
    3. To provide a focus at the Local, Regional/Wing, Provincial/Territorial, and National levels, to promote and encourage Air Cadets to participate in an optional activity that will provide them with an opportunity to acquire effective speaking skills through instruction and practice in a structured and competitive environment;
    4. To increase public awareness regarding the citizenship and leadership aspects of the Air Cadet program at the national, provincial and local levels.

    1. C5 – FTUs with indoor running shoes; or
    2. Dress shirt, dark coloured pants and indoor running shoes if the cadet hasn’t yet been issued their uniform.
  7. Details:

Drill Team

    1. Conservative civilian attire with wedge; and
    2. A pair of indoor shoes.
  7. Materials:
    1. A snack; and
    2. A bottle of water.
  8. Details:
    1. Drill is an important part of cadet training. Drill promotes discipline, alertness, precision, pride, steadiness, and the cohesion necessary for success within a group.
    2. Drill team is not accepting new cadets at this time.

Pipes & Drums Music
  1. Participant(s):  Any cadet interested
  2. OPI:  832 Squadron
  3. Date: Sat, 11 Feb 23
  4. Time: 0900 – 1100 hrs
  5. Location:
    1. Rockland District High School 1004 St Joseph St, Clarence-Rockland, ON K4K 1P6
  6. Dress:
    1. Conservative civilian attire.
  7. Details:
    1. 832 Squadron has graciously offered our cadets the opportunity to participate in their Pipes and Drums Music Program
    2. The Cadet Music Program involves instruction in theory, performance, sight-reading and instrument maintenance.
    3. Cadets will have the opportunity to learn percussion instruments or the bagpipes.
  8. Materials:

    2. Bring a water bottle; and
    3. Your practice instrument.

Biathlon

  4. Time:
    1. Saturday:  0800 – 1700 hrs
    2. Sunday:  0800 – 1700 hrs
  5. Location:  Camp Fortune - Outaouais Biathlon Site - 300 Chem. Dunlop, Chelsea, QC J9B 2N3
    1. Drop-off and pick-up are at the parking lot near the main ski hill before the road heading up to Chalet Des Erables. Lt Rozon will meet the cadets at the parking lot, and they will proceed up the road to Chalet Des Erables as a group.
    2. Cadets are encouraged to carpool.
  6. Dress:
    1. Appropriate sportswear for the weather (bring layers) and a hat.
    2. Bring a full water bottle, a small towel, all contained inside a small backpack.
  7. Description:
    1. The Regional Biathlon Competition is the annual activity where the Cadets put their combined training into practice in a formal and timed environment.
  8. Food/Water:
    1. Cadets are to bring their own food, snacks and water.
    2. The water at Chalet Des Erables is not potable. 
    3. Do not bring any food that contains or may contain peanuts.
  9. Clothing: 
    1. ​All cadets must be dressed properly for climatic conditions and must have a hat and gloves for shooting in order to participate.
  10. Health Card:
    1. Cadets must be always in possession of their health card during practices and/or competitions

Marksmanship Team Practice

    1. C5 – FTUs;
    2. Cadets are to wear a pair of outdoor shoes to the facility and change into their FTU boots upon arrival.
  7. Details:
    1. Marksmanship is only open to team members until after the competition on 12 March.
    2. Cadets who are not on the marksmanship team are not permitted to attend until 25 March 23.
