Biathlon Practice No biathlon practice this Saturday 8 Feb 20
Regional Winter FTX
  1. Participant(s):  Interested Cadets (Level 3+, up to 15)
  2. OPI:   OCdt Rozon
  3. Escort: CI Willis, Mrs Walsh
  4. Date: 07-09 Feb, 2020
  5. Timings: 
    1. Depart CASM: 1800 hrs 
    2. Return CASM: 1530 hrs
  6. Transportation: Bus from Canada Aviation and Space Museum, 11 Aviation Pkwy, Ottawa, ON K1K 2X5
  7. LOANED TO EACH CADET: 
    1. Military sleeping bag, bag liner and air mattress.
  8. SPARE EQUIPMENT
    1. Extra Parkas, winter boots and mittens will be available for emergency use.
  9. FORBIDDEN ARTICLES :
    1. Matches, Lighters, cigarettes, drugs, alcohol, electronic devices, food or knife with a blade longer than 4 inches.
  10. Dress: Conservative, weather appropriate civilian outdoor dress.
  11. Meals: Provided, mix of MREs and fresh meals. Please eat supper on Friday before getting on the bus.
  12. Material: PERSONAL MATERIAL LIST
    1. Winter Boots 1 pair
    2. Running shoes (for indoor) 1 pair
    3. Wool socks (cadet socks or equivalent) 4 pairs
    4. Warm pants (wool or merino) 2 pairs
    5. Warm sweater 3
    6. Underwear 3
    7. Mittens or warm gloves 2 pairs
    8. Tuque ( a dry one to sleep with) 2
    9. Scarf or neck warmer 2
    10. Winter coat 1
    11. Winter pants 1
    12. Long sleeved undershirt and underpants 1 kit
    13. Snow shovel 1
    14. Toothbrush and toothpaste 1 kit
    15. Soap 1
    16. Washcloth 
    17. Notepad 1
    18. Pencil 1
    19. Medication (if needed) 1
    20. Plastic mess kit (plate, bowl, utensils) 1
    21. Plastic Cup or travel mug 1
    22. Water Bottle 1
    23. Sunglasses 1
    24. Lip balm 1
    25. Sleeping bag (military sleeping bag will be supplied as 2nd layer) 1
    26. Flashlight
    27. Light blanket (fleece or polar)

  13.  Notes: This activity will be offered only to Cadets level 3 and up.

    This activity will aim at training Cadets in a winter survival situation and deliver the complementary winter exercise program. It will also be a great opportunity to get to know other units of the Ottawa Valley.
OP Polar Bear II - Snowshoeing and X-Country Skiing
  1. Participant(s):  Cadets who signed up.
  2. OPI:  Lt Willis
  3. Date: Sat, 15 Feb 20
  4. Timings:
    1. Drop-Off: 1230hrs
    2. Pick-Up: 1530hrs
  5. Location: Area P7 at Larose Forest, 4368-4890 Indian Creek Rd, Clarence-Rockland, ON
  6. Dress: Appropriate attire for the weather (layers), an extra pair of socks and footwear, a toque and gloves.
  7. Materials: Bring x-country skis or snowshoes if you have them. Some snowshoes will be available on site.
  8. Notes: First aid and a standby vehicle will be available on site if required.

Staff Cadet Applications
  1. Participant(s):  All cadets who wish to apply for staff cadet positions at CTCs.
  2. OPI:  Lt Willis
  3. Deadline: Tue, 18 Feb 20
  4. Eligibility: Interested cadets must be 16 years of age by 01 Jan 20 and have completed Level 4 training by the end of the 2019-2020 training year.

Summer Training Applications
