Squadron Hours:  

1. Squadron official hours are 1830 - 2130hrs, on Tuesday nights, September through June.  
   
2. ​If there is an urgent matter outside of these hours that requires immediate and prompt attention, call the Commanding Officer, Capt Willis, at 613-898-3616. 

 
COVID Case Reporting: Cadets who receive a positive COVID test result must contact Capt Willis as soon as possible at 613-898-3616 or via email.  
 
COVID-19 Screening:  

1. Prior to leaving home, each cadet must complete this COVID-19 Screening; 
   
2. If the screening result is “go to school/childcare,” go to Squadron Training; 
   
3. Otherwise, stay home and advise Admin by filling out this form.

Training Interests  

1. Participants: All Level 5 Cadets 
   
2. Details: 
   
   1. All level 5 cadets must write to the Training Officer, Lt Lussier, at [email protected] and provide the following: 
      
      1. A quick introduction; and 
         
      2. Top 3 instructional preferences (i.e.: their top 3 favourite subjects to teach). 
         
   2. It is expected that all cadets use their Cadet365 accounts. 
      
   3. Lt Lussier is looking forward to meeting all the cadets and appreciates this help from the Level 5s. 
      
      

Welcome Back Sports Night for Returning Cadets (In-person)

Senior NCM Weekend (In-person) 

1. Participant(s): Mandatory for all Level 4 and 5 Cadets.

4. Time: 0900-1700hrs both days 
   
   1. No overnights

6. Dress: Field Training Uniform (FTU) with beret 
   
7. Meals: MREs

New Cadet Information and Registration Session (In-person)  

1. Participant(s): All newly registered cadets, or youth who wish to register, and their parents/guardians.

   1. Navigating 5 Cyclone when you’re new to the unit can be confusing. We will be hosting an information session to help new cadets and their parents/guardians to navigate it. Come find out what to expect as a parent/guardian and a cadet, where to find resources, to ask questions and to find out what parents/guardians can do to help your cadet(s) to get the most out of 5 Cyclone. 
      
   2. All parents/guardians of new cadets are encouraged to attend.

Regular Training Night (In-person)

   2. Upon arrival, parents are to park and stay in their car.  
      
   3. Cadets are to use the rear entrance. 
      
6. Dress:   
   
   1. Field Training Uniform (FTU) with beret; or 
      
   2. White shirt and dark coloured pants and mask if the cadet hasn’t yet been issued FTUs 
      
7. Details:    
   
   1. COVID-19 Screening:  
      
      1. Prior to leaving home, each cadet must complete this COVID-19 Screening; 
         
      2. If the screening result is “go to school/child care”, go to Squadron Training; 
         
      3. Otherwise, stay home and advise Admin by filling out this form. 
         
8. Materials:   
   
   1. Bring writing materials such as a pen and notebook; and 
      
   2. Bring a water bottle (use of water fountains is not permitted). 
      
9. Parents:   
   
   1. For reasons of contact tracing, parents must remain in their vehicles when dropping off their cadet.  
      
   2. If parents have questions, staff members will be available in the parking lot to answer them. 

 
Aero-Gatineau Airshow (In-person)  

1. Participant(s): All cadets may sign up (max. 20 cadets)

4. Time: 0830-1730hrs 
   
5. Location: Gatineau Airport 
   
6. Dress:

7. Details:  
   
   1. A bus will be provided, and will depart from and return to the Embrun Arena.
      
   2. There are 20 spots available for the cadets. A waitlist will be set up if necessary.

Abseiling (In-person)  

1. Participant(s): All cadets can sign up (max. 20 cadets)

5. Location: Connaught Range and Primary Training Centre 
   
6. Dress: 
   
   1. C5 – Field Training Uniform with beret; or 
      
   2. Appropriate athletic attire for an afternoon outside.

   1. A bus will be provided, and will depart from and return to the Embrun Arena.
   2. There are 20 spots available for the cadets. A waitlist will be set up if necessary.
