Virtual Drill Team Program, Video-Conference Briefing
  1. Participant(s):  
    1. Open to all cadets (and parents of cadets) interested in participating in a Virtual Drill Team Program
    2. If you haven’t yet registered, do so here.

  3. Date: Thursday, 15 October 2020
  4. Time: 1900hrs
  5. Location:
    1. Google Classroom,
    2. To join the video conference, click on the following Google Meet link meet.google.com/smo-ofar-bcq and the click "Join Now". 
  6. Dress: Conservative Civilian Dress
  7. Description: Video-conference briefing with Drill Team Coach CI Andre Deblois who will:
    1. Explain how the Virtual Drill Team Program will be run; 
    2. Respond to questions that Cadets and parents may have;
    3. Evaluate the level of interest in the program; and 
    4. Put a program in place, if there is enough interest and communicate further instructions for participation.

Ground School, Online Session
  1. Participant(s): 
    1.  Any cadet interested in attending Virtual Ground School. 
    2. Mandatory for anybody applying for Glider or Power 
    3. If unable to attend this session contact Mrs. Maxwell at claire.maxwell@5cycloneaircadets.ca)

  4. Time: 1830 - 2115 hrs 
  5. Location: Zoom.
  6. Dress: Casual Civilians
  7. Materials: Bring writing materials.

Music - Pipes & Drums (Beginners) *NEW*

  8. Description:  Lessons provided virtually for this year by SD&G Highlanders with classes on Mondays for beginners.

Regular Training Night (all levels)
  1. Participant(s):  All Cadets
  2. OPI:  Capt Willis
  3. Date: Tue, 20 Oct 20
  4. Time: 1920-2030 hrs 
  5. Location:  Google Classroom
  6. Dress: 
    1. C3 Service Dress (open-collared dress shirt); or
    2. White open-collared shirt/dark pants (for Cadets who don’t currently have a uniform or have outgrown it)
  7. Description: 
    1. Training Schedule
    2. At present, regular training occurs in Google Classrooms by Level. 
    3. Do you have access to your @5cycloneaircadets.ca account?  If not, email admin@5cycloneaircadets.ca 
    4. Do you have access to your Level Classroom?  If not, check your Sqn email for two (2) Google Classroom invites: one for your level, and one for the Squadron Classroom ("5 Cyclone Squadron"). 
    5. Cadets cannot access their Google Classrooms from their personal email accounts, only their @5cycloneaircadets.ca email accounts.

Supply Night - Field Training Uniform Initial Issue
  1. Participant(s):  All cadets requiring the new Field Training Uniform (FTU)
  2. OPI:  Capt Magill

  5. ​Location: Embrun Self Storage, 130 Bay St, Embrun, ON K0A 1W1, Canada
  6. Description
    1. Plans are currently underway to safely resume in-person Supply nights, starting with the initial issue of the new FTU.  At this time the squadron is waiting for approval from RCSU before starting these supply nights, as such the dates are currently to be determined.
    2. In preparation for FTUs to be issued, a new “Supply COVID-19 Resource Page” has been created that outlines new procedures that will be in place, as well as provides an at home measuring guide.  All cadets will need to take their own measurements in order to receive their FTUs.
    3. Once the squadron receives approval to begin running in-person Supply, further information will be provided for booking an appointment.

Senior NCM Course, 2nd Live Session
  1. Participant(s):  Mandatory Training for all Level 5 cadets (if unable to attend this session contact CI Andre Deblois at andre.deblois@5cycloneaircadets.ca)

  7. Description: 2nd of two Live Sessions of the Senior NCM Course featuring group discussions on Leadership, Instructional techniques and Personal Development previously covered asynchronously.
