Music - Pipes & Drums (Beginners)

 CO's Ceremony (all levels)
  1. Participant(s):  All Cadets 
  2. OPI:  Capt Martel
  3. Date: Tue, 9 Feb 21
  4. Time: 1900-2030 hrs 
    1. 1900 will be dress inspection in each Classrom
    2. 1920hrs Parents can join the meet : https://meet.google.com/ujy-zonh-uqb
    3. 1925hrs Cadet will join the meet
  5. Location:  Google Classroom
  6. Dress:
    1. C5 Training Dress (i.e., Field Training Uniform)
    2. White shirt/dark pants (for Cadets who don’t currently have a uniform or who have outgrown it)

Virtual Uniform Inspections
  1. Participant(s):  All cadets
  2. OPI:  CI Williams, Standards Officer (Stds O)
  3. Date: Every Tuesday before regular training
  4. Time: 1900-1920 hrs 
  5. Location: Level Classrooms
  6. Dress: C5 Training Dress (i.e., Field Training Uniform)
  7. Description: Beginning on Tuesday 19 January 2021, all cadets will be expected to log into their respective Level Classrooms by 1900 hrs on training nights for virtual uniform inspections. Further information on uniform standards will be posted in each Level Classroom.  
 

Drone Team
  1. Participant(s): Registered cadets
  2. OPI:  Capt Tanguay
  3. Date: Wed, 10 Feb 21
  4. Time: 1900-2030 hrs
  5. Location: Google Classroom
  6. Description:  The program will lead the cadets to the successful completion of the Transport Canada examination “Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems — Basic Operations” certificate which is based on the standard entitled Knowledge Requirements for Pilots of Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems, 250g up to and including 25kg, Operating within Visual Line-of-Sight (VLOS).

Biathlon Training

  3. Date: Sat, 13 Feb 21
  4. Time: 1300-1330hrs
  5. Location: Google Classroom
  6. Description:  This year's Biathlon training will be a combination of virtual meets and individual physical activity.  Participating Cadets will receive a training plan and instruction/coaching/mentoring from CI Gagnon. Go to Activity Sign-ups to register.
 

Advanced Marksmanship training
  1. Participant(s):  Open to Cadets who have Marksmanship experience, but would like to participate in more advanced training.
  2. OPI:  2Lt Rozon
  3. Dates: Sun, 14 Feb 21 (Sundays until 4 Apr 21)
  4. Time: 1300-1430hrs
  5. Location: Google classroom - link will be sent to registrants.
  6. Description: Online workshops delivered by 51 Squadron. Go to Activity Sign-ups to register. Contact 2Lt Rozon for any connectivity or communications issues.
 

Beginner Marksmanship training 
  1. Participant(s):  Mandatory for all cadets who are new to the squadron this year and for all those in their second year who were unable to receive marksmanship training last year. Open to all Cadets.
  2. OPI:  2Lt Rozon
  3. Dates: Sun, 31 Jan 21 (Sundays until 7 Mar 21)
  4. Time: 1430-1530hrs
  5. Location: Google classroom - link will be sent to registrants.
  6. Description: Online workshops delivered by 51 Squadron. Go to Activity Sign-ups to register. Contact 2Lt Rozon for any connectivity or communications issues.
 

Cadet Correspondent Training
  1. Participant(s):  WO2 Nadeau, Sgt Walsh, Cdt Lamoureux
  2. OPI:  Capt Martel
  3. Dates: Virtual webinar Sat, 13, and 20 Feb
  4. Time: As communicated by email by Lt Wayne Chan or Capt Rivet
  5. Location: Online
  6. Description: Each session will consist of five learning modules. Weekly 90 minute webinars will be delivered on Saturdays.


Supply on Stand-down - NEW ordering system is live
  1. Participant(s):  All Cadets
  2. OPI:  Captain Magill
  3. Date: N/A

  5. Location: N/A
  6. Description: While Supply remains on "stand-down" for the distribution of uniforms until at least the 8th of February, we have now re-opened online ordering.  While further information regarding distribution of orders will follow in the coming weeks, cadets are now encourage to access the new form to place their orders
  7. All cadets are now able to:
  1. Order the initial issue of their FTU and blue uniform (if they haven't already received it)
  2. Order replacement items for their uniforms they have in their possession (including cold weather gear, badges and accessories)
 

Parent and Committee Meeting

  3. Date: Every first Wednesday of the month.

  5. Location: Google meet
  6. Description: Monthly meeting of the 5 Cyclone sponsoring committee.  Parents are highly encouraged to come.

Fitness Night - HIIT OR ZUMBA Class
  1. Participant(s):  All Cadets
  2. OPI:  Capt Willis
  3. Date: Tue, 23 Feb 21
  4. Time: 1900-2000hrs 
  5. Location:  Online
  6. Dress: Appropriate fitness attire and shoes
  7. Description: Cadets will have the choice of one of 2 fitness classes offered this night.
HIIT Training - METABOLIC SHRED (FULL BODY) - Stay motivated and stay active as COMMON GROUND takes you through a 45 minute full body conditioning
session. Bodyweight conditioning circuit training with a mix of core and cardio
to get that body up and moving. All fitness levels are welcome - modifications
can be made where necessary. Minimal to no equipment required.

ZUMBA Training - Zumba is a fitness program that combines Latin and international music with dance moves. Zumba routines incorporate interval training — alternating fast and slow rhythms — to help improve cardiovascular fitness.

Cadet Activities Program - March Break 2021

  5. Location: In-Person or Online, depending on pandemic situation closer to the event dates.
  6. Description:  
    1. ​The Cadet Activities Program (CAP) is a daytime program, set for March Break 2021
    2. It is designed to provide safe, fun and challenging activities (possibly presented virtually) ​for cadets of all levels at local sites.
    3. All activities will be aligned with all appropriate COVID-19 safety guidelines, such as wearing masks, physical distancing, and sanitation practices. 
    4. Go to Activity Sign-ups to register.
