5 Cyclone Sponsoring Committee Bursaries (Last call!) 
  1. Participants: Cadets attending Post-Secondary School in September 2022!  
  2. Qualification Criteria:   
    1. Bursaries are available for graduating cadets who are registered to a University or College program for the 2022/23 year. To qualify, you must:  
    2. have been in the air cadet program for a minimum of four years by the end of this training year;  
    3. be a current or former member of 5 Cyclone Squadron;  
    4. hold the rank of Flight Sergeant or higher;  
    5. have shown exemplary deportment and participation in the Squadron;  
    6. (Proof of registration will be required prior to receiving your bursary) 
  3. Application:   
    1. Submit an essay of 500-1000 words explaining how being an Air Cadet has helped you to prepare for your chosen study/career path.  
    2. Applications must be submitted to chair@5cycloneaircadets.ca no later than 24 May 22.

Level 4 Aviation Assessment (Virtual)

  4. Details: 
    1. Level 4 cadets have received an email with instructions for completing their self-led aviation content via Google Classroom. 
    2. Cadets have until 2359hrs on 13 June 22 to submit their final exam via Google Classroom. 
    3. Failure to complete this training will result in an incomplete training level and will disqualify the cadet from promotion for the 2021-2022 training year.  
  5. Questions: Level 4 cadets who are experiencing issues with their training are to write to their Level Officer, CI Deblois. 
 
Chairperson’s Award 
  1. Applicants: Any cadet who meets the following criteria: 
    1. Be less than 19 years of age before October 31st of the year of nomination. 
    2. Be a full-time student. 
    3. Have, at the time of the application, a minimum rank of Flight Sergeant and have completed level IV Air Cadet Training. 
    4. Note that applications will be due in mid-June, if you are currently a Sgt you may be promoted to FSgt before the application deadline.   
  2. Expression of Interest: Write to 5aviation@cadets.gc.ca if you are interested in applying for the Chairperson’s Award.   
  3. Details: The Chairman’s Award serves to reward a cadet who, by his/her actions, societal involvement and leadership, represents the values of the Air Cadet League. The recipient will demonstrate that he/she is capable of sharing his/her ideas and experiences in the community. The winner will have shown the ability to accomplish these ideas and to rally others to implement a project. The recipient will also demonstrate the necessary confidence to be an ambassador of the Air Cadet League in the community and among his/her peers.

    4. Note that applications will be due in mid-June, if you are currently a Sgt you may be promoted to FSgt before the application deadline.

  3. Details: The Chairman’s Award serves to reward a cadet who, by his/her actions, societal involvement and leadership, represents the values of the Air Cadet League. Cadet365 - Virtual Office Hours to Support Cadet Onboarding

  4. Details:
    1. All Level 4+ cadets have been sent their Cadets365 credentials on onboarding material. 
    2. The IT SMC will be offering virtual office hours to assist cadets with onboarding to Cadet365. Those sessions are in place to assist cadets who may be experiencing trouble with certain steps of the initial onboarding process. 
    3. Before joining the meeting cadets:
      1. should attempt the login process themselves by following the steps/resources available on Canada.ca and consult the frequently asked questions
