Sports and Fitness Testing

  6. Dress: Conservative PT gear and running shoes 
  7. Notes: 
    1. Bring a bottle of water 
    2. The Cadet Fitness Assessment is mandatory for all cadets in order to achieve their level and for a cadet to be eligible for a Summer Course.  Results are often considered for other opportunities, as well.
Ground School (next class is on 8 January)

Biathlon Practice
  1. Participant(s):  Biathlon Cadets.  
  2. OPIs:  OCdt Rozon/CI Gagnon J
  3. Date: Sat, 21 Dec 19
  4. Time: 0845-1400 hrs 
  5. Location: Camp Fortune Biathlon Training site, 300 Chemin Dunlop, Chelsea, QC J9B 2N3
  6. Dress: Appropriate sports attire for the weather (layers), an extra pair of socks and footwear, a toque and gloves.
  7. Material: Lunch, snacks, and a water bottle. Cadets must be in possession of their Health Card at all times during practices or competitions
  8. Transportation: Parents are responsible for transportation.  Carpooling is encouraged.
  9. Team Duties: For the good performance of the site, units will be responsible for a different cleaning task every week:
    Pick up weapons, Cleaning of weapons, Cleaning Range, Cleaning the facilities, Cleaning washroom, Storage of skis, poles and boots.

    1. While you wait for the CO’s parade, why not join us in the cafeteria for a brief informal discussion regarding activities in the new year.  We are looking for parent suggestions, comments and ideas.
    2. It is also a great opportunity to apply for your ACL blue card.  Getting your blue card does not obligate you to do anything but it does offer you the benefit of being able to participate and volunteer in more cadet activities.  It also ensures that you are covered by Air Cadet League insurance at any cadet activity.

Food Bank - Fill the Bus Event

  5. Dress: Civilian dress with Squadron swag encouraged.  Olive Drab is authorized.

  7. Note: This activity qualifies for community service hours.
  8. Context and Duties: The YIG cashier will promote the Foodbank and the client may buy a bag or box for goods to be donated to the Foodbank.  The client will approach the Foodbank bus with cash or food to donate and the Cadets will sort these items into the assigned boxes on the bus.  200 bags and 125 boxes are usually sold during the weekend.

Christmas Dinner Donations
We are still short of our goal for donations for the Christmas Dinner.  If we don’t raise enough funds to cover the cost of food, the remainder will need to come out of general funds which may have an impact on cadet activities.

If you haven’t yet donated, please consider it.  Donations can be made by cash on Tuesday evenings or etransfer to fundraising@cycloneaircadets.com.  For etransfers, please include the name of your cadet in the comments.
