Captain Rachel Willis
June 2022 -
Capt Willis joined the cadet program in December of 2005 after seeing cadets from the new unit in the area, 5 Cyclone, at her school’s Remembrance Day ceremony. She quickly developed a love for the cadet program, devoting as much time and energy to it as her parents would allow. She spent many years on the drill team and as a member of the squadron’s brass and reed band, which has since been disbanded, learning the trombone, flute, and saxophone. When she graduated from the cadet program in 2010, Capt Willis had attained the rank of Warrant Officer Second Class and filled the Cadet Squadron Deputy Commander position.
In September of 2011, Capt Willis returned to 5 Cyclone as a Civilian Instructor and in October of 2013, she enrolled as a Cadet Instructor Cadre Officer. Since then, she has filled various roles at the unit such as Standards Officer, Supply Officer, Administration Officer, and Training Officer.
In her civilian life she is a member of R.W. Tomlinson’s Comfort Station division. Capt Willis and her husband Cameron were married in 2019 and reside in Embrun.
