5 Cyclone - Aviation Distributed Learning (DL) Centre

Introduction

To assist in the learning of Aviation related Performance Objectives for level 3 and 4 cadets, the following Distributed Learning (DL) training packages have been designed.

Level 3s


As part of the level 3 training program, level 3 cadets are required to learn and acquire basic knowledge regarding aviation in specific areas such as principles of flight (331), meterology (336) and air navigation (337).

  • PO 331 – DESCRIBE PRINCIPLES OF FLIGHT
    • EO M331.01 – DESCRIBE AIRCRAFT STABILITY
 
  • PO 336 – IDENTIFY METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS
    • EO M336.01 – DESCRIBE PROPERTIES OF THE ATMOSPHERE
    • EO M336.02 – EXPLAIN THE FORMATION OF CLOUDS
    • EO M336.03 - EXPLAIN THE EFFECTS OF AIR PRESSURE ON WEATHER
 
  • PO 337 – EXPLAIN ASPECTS OF AIR NAVIGATION
    • EO M337.01 – MEASURE DISTANCE ALONG A ROUTE
    • EO M337.02 – DETERMINE A POSITION ON A VISUAL FLIGHT RULES (VFR) NAVIGATIONAL CHART (VNC)


LEVEL 3 FINAL AVIATION REVIEW

Complete the exam review​. 


​Once the DL training and review material have been completed, the link to the Performance Check (PC) Evaluation will be forwarded to each cadet.

Level 4s

As part of the level 4 training program, level 4 cadets are required to learn and acquire basic knowledge regarding aviation in specific areas such as principles of flight (431), aeronautical engine systems (432), meterology (436) and air navigation (437).
