Squadron Hours: 

1. Squadron’s official hours are 1830--2100 hrs, on Tuesday nights. 
2. If there is an urgent matter outside of these hours that requires immediate and prompt attention and cannot wait until the following Tuesday, call the squadron at 613-704-9284 and leave a message. Your call will be returned within 24 hours.

Survey - French Language Squadron 

1. There is a project to open a new French squadron in the Ottawa region. 
2. To gather information on the response and viability of this project Cadets, Parents, SSC and Staff across Ottawa are each asked to fill out this short survey. 
   1. Questions and Answers are available in both official languages. 
   2. The survey takes less than 5 minutes and is anonymous. 

 
Summer Training Briefing & Portraits 

1. Participant(s):  All Cadets and their caregivers 
2. OPI:  Capt Czuczor & OCdt Caswell 
3. Date:  Tues, 5 March 24 
4. Time:  1830--2100 hrs 
5. Location:  ESCE - 1276 St Jacques Rd, Embrun, ON K0A 1W0 
6. Dress: C1 (C5 if you do not have complete C1) 
   1. Parade/drill boots may be worn inside ESCE. FTU boots may not. Regardless of footwear, all cadets are required to change their footwear upon entering the school. 
7. Details: 
   1. Portraits (OPI: OCdt Caswell): 
      1. All cadets will have their portrait taken as a family keepsake. 
      2. A squadron photo will be taken as well.  
   2. Summer Training Briefing (OPI: Capt Czuczor): 
      1. All cadets and their parents are strongly encouraged to attend the Summer Training briefing taking place in the cafeteria, beginning at 1900hrs. This briefing will provide cadets and their caregivers with important information regarding Summer Training for Summer 2024. 
8. Materials: 
   1. Indoor shoes; 
   2. Writing materials such as a pen and notebook; and 
   3. Water bottle 

 
Flag Party  

1. We are pleased to announce that the flag party for the 2023/2024 Training Year will be made up of the following cadets: 
   1. Canadian Flag Bearer: Sgt Maxwell 
   2. Squadron Banner Bearer: Cpl Vance 
   3. Guards: Cpl Humphries and Cpl Lohnes 
   4. Spares: FCpl Van De Visch and Cpl Boyer 
2. Details: 
   1. Thank you to everyone who participated in the tryouts! Cadets were selected based on the level of drill expertise they demonstrated. If you didn’t make it, keep practicing your drill skills and don’t hesitate to try out again in the future!

1. Participant(s):  Any cadet interested in learning about aviation theory and pilot hopefuls.

5. Location:  Russell Public School – 14 Mill Street, Russell 
6. Dress: 
   1. Civilian attire. 
7. Materials: 
   1. Indoor shoes; 
   2. Writing materials such as a pen and notebook; 
   3. a Snack; and 
   4. Water bottle

Staff Cadet Applications 

1. Participant(s): All cadets who wish to apply for a staff cadet position during Summer 2024 
2. Deadline: Tues, 12 March 24 at 2359 hrs 
3. Details & Eligibility: 
   1. To be eligible you must be 16 years of age before the first day of work and must not reach your 19th birthday before the last day of work. You will also have completed Level 4 training by the end of the current training year. 
   2. Cadets can apply to staff at the following Cadet Training Centres (CTCs): 
      1. St. Jean CFTC (St Jean, QC); 
      2. HMCS Ontario CTC (Kingston, ON); 
      3. Blackdown CTC (Borden, ON); 
      4. Trenton CTC (Trenton, ON); 
      5. Valcartier CTC (Valcartier, QC); 
      6. Rocky Mountain CTC (Bighorn, AB); 
      7. National Cadet Advisory Council (Trenton, ON); and 
      8. Technology and Digital Learning Centre (virtual).
