1. Squadron’s official hours are 1830--2100 hrs, on Tuesday nights.
2. If there is an urgent matter outside of these hours that requires immediate and prompt attention and cannot wait until the following Tuesday, call the squadron at 613-704-9284 and leave a message. Your call will be returned within 24 hours.

Survey - French Language Squadron

1. There is a project to open a new French squadron in the Ottawa region.
2. To gather information on the response and viability of this project Cadets, Parents, SSC and Staff across Ottawa are each asked to fill out this short survey.

1. Questions and Answers are available in both official languages.
2. The survey takes less than 5 minutes and is anonymous.

 
Cyber Security/Sports Training

1. Participant(s):  All Cadets.

4. Time:  1830—2100 hrs
5. Location:  ESCE - 1276 St Jacques Rd, Embrun, ON K0A 1W0
6. Dress: Civilian/Sports attire
7. Details:
   1. Cadets who have not completed their Cyber Security course through Cadet365 must attend the training in the cafeteria.
   2. Cadets who have already completed their Cyber Security course may attend the evening to play basketball or volleyball in the gymnasium.
      1. If you have completed your Cyber Security course and do not wish to play basketball/volleyball or attend the effective speaking competition, you may stay home.
   3. Parents are welcome to attend closing parade at 2040 hrs in the gym.

   2. Writing materials such as a pen and notebook; and
   3. Water bottle

 
Flag Party Call Backs

6. Details:
   1. Thank you to everyone who participated in the first round of tryouts! Cadets were selected for a second try-out based on the level of drill expertise they demonstrated. If you didn’t make the second round, keep practicing your drill skills and don’t hesitate to try out again in the future!
   2. Positions available on the flag party include:
      1. Canadian flag bearer;
      2. Canadian flag guard;
      3. Squadron banner bearer;
      4. Squadron banner guard; and
      5. Spare(s). These cadets would fill a position if a member of flag party is absent.

 
Effective Speaking Competition

   1. Caregivers of the cadets competing are more than welcome to attend! Cadets are welcome to spectate, as long as they remain respectful.
   2. The winner of this squadron competition will go on to represent 5 at the regional competition. They will then compete against other squadrons to advance to provincials, followed by nationals.

Portraits

Staff Cadet Applications

1. Participant(s): All cadets who wish to apply for a staff cadet position during Summer 2024
2. Deadline: Tues, 12 March 24 at 2359 hrs
3. Details & Eligibility:
   
   1. To be eligible you must be 16 years of age before the first day of work and must not reach your 19th birthday before the last day of work. You will also have completed Level 4 training by the end of the current training year.
      
   2. Cadets can apply to staff at the following Cadet Training Centres (CTCs):
      
      1. St. Jean CFTC (St Jean, QC);
         
      2. HMCS Ontario CTC (Kingston, ON);
         
      3. Blackdown CTC (Borden, ON);
         
      4. Trenton CTC (Trenton, ON);
         
      5. Valcartier CTC (Valcartier, QC);
         
      6. Rocky Mountain CTC (Bighorn, AB);
         
      7. National Cadet Advisory Council (Trenton, ON); and
         
      8. Technology and Digital Learning Centre (virtual).
